This session is about how the Nationwide Building Society Intelligent Controls and DevOps Ways of Working enablement teams are working together to help achieve better value, sooner, safer, happier.

The DevOps Enterprise Summit attendees have previously heard from Nationwide Building Society on topics such as our operating model, our culture, and our use of OKRs. As these sessions have highlighted, we’re making some incredible progress and finding new ways to increase flow every day. But all of this brings the natural consequence of pressure for the our Risk and Control functions. We must adapt rapidly whilst continuing to enable compliance in our highly regulated financial services environment.

We’ll cover everything from controls simplification, metrics and tools, through to nudging cultural attitudes to control, and our vision of utopia. We will seek to promote empathy with your control teams as they find themselves the reluctant parents of adolescent agile / DevOps teams. With control teams still holding a formal duty of care, but needing to create increasing amounts of empowerment to teams who have discovered ways to go faster and faster. We hope to challenge you to think differently about the strong alignment of control and DevOps, and to inspire you about the power in Intelligent Control.
